Real Wedding: The Goodwell’s Jungle Speakeasy Wedding

We are so excited to share Hayley and Erik’s fun and colorful Birmingham summer wedding on the blog! Their day was planned at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and while we had to move to the Plan B Rain Plan (it was one of the wettest summers ever!), they were surrounded by all their people and had just the most joyful spirits all day!

Hayley started her day at her friend’s beautiful home in Mountain Brook with a laid-back ladies brunch and plenty of time and space to get hair and makeup done. Cosmetics by Mackenzie and Perfectly Undone Beauty provided beauty services for Hayley and her bridesmaids.

Hayley wore a gown by Heidi Elnora Atelier and gold shoes by Loeffler Randall. Erik joined her at the home for their first look and a sweet time of reading notes from their loved ones from the rehearsal dinner.

Oh Honey Photos captured everything from the details to portraits to the party so well! Kathy G and Co. designed a custom Southern-Latin fusion menu for their guests – a nod to Hayley’s Alabama roots and Erik’s Latin roots. A string quartet provided a classic and traditional atmosphere for the ceremony while The Negotiators kept everyone on the dance floor for the reception.

How much do we love the mismatched and floral bridesmaids’ dresses?!

Hayley’s fun theme – “Jungle Speakeasy” – was designed and executed perfectly by Birmingham floral designer, Laurel and Sage Florals. Lauren took Hayley’s fun, colorful, and unique ideas and produced them in an elevated way that tied everything together perfectly!

Hayley & Erik’s paper suite was designed by her friend Katherine of Party Sally – we just loved her letterpress and embossed design!

Our rentals, draping, and lighting came from our friends at Decor to Adore and they were GEMS when we had to move to the Rain Plan and pull everything indoors and do a “flip” after the ceremony!

Sweets and treats included the wedding cake from Magic Muffins and Steel City Pops and Naughty But Nice Kettle Corn Co. during the late nite afterparty.

After dinner and dancing, we transitioned to the late nite afterparty in the gardens. String lights set the tone for whisky tastings, acoustic music, lawn games, and general revelry!
